Chef Shawn Holmes’ passion for cooking began as a child spending time in the kitchen with his parents and his Italian and Irish grandmothers. While other children were watching Cartoons and Sesame Street, he was watching the greats Julia Child, Graham Kerr and Jacque Pepin.
Chef Holmes achieved one of his dreams as a young culinarian in November 2001 when he completed his Associates degree in Culinary Arts at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He is a (CCC) Certified Chef De Cuisine and is an Active Member of the American Culinary Federation. Chef Holmes is also a Certified Serve Safe Facilitator and Proctor for Sodexo and the NRA. He has joined the Sodexo test kitchen in Gaithersburg, MD on several occasions developing new menu items for all Sodexo divisions.
Today, he works for Sodexo as an Executive Chef and Culinary Champion for the Senior Services Division at Frederick Living in Frederick, Pa. He is the point person for Market connection, Food Management, SMG, and Mindful programs in his district and beyond. His ongoing quest to develop new culinary trends keeps his passion alive with residents and clients asking for more.
