Chef Charles Blackmon’s food service journey began when he worked at the Washington Post as a receiver and prep cook in 1987. In 1995, he transitioned from a Lead Cook to the Executive Sous Chef at The World Bank. In 2007, his path lead him to the government agency, CIA. He became the Executive Chef in 2009. Chef Blackmon has been a part of Sodexo family for 20 years. In 2013, he was voted Culinary Manager of the Year for Government Services. Recently, he joined the team at United States House of Representatives as Campus Executive Chef.
His passion is Italian Cuisine and International cooking, which he studied under Kim Sang. He enjoys researching and executing ethnic cuisines. Chef Blackmon values authenticity and integrity in the dishes he prepares. His favorite part of being a chef is being able mentor and help his employees to reach their full potential as culinary professionals.
