With a mother and aunt owning a catering company, Chef Laurance M. Morrison says he spent his childhood in the kitchen, trying to get his hands into everything they prepared. By age 20, he knew he wanted to be a chef because cooking and combining flavors came so naturally. Today, Laurance finds inspiration for his dishes from the various regions he’s lived in, from the Pacific Northwest to the Gulf Coast, and right in his home state of California. “My travels have opened up a world of cooking techniques and allowed me to expand my culinary offerings,” says Laurance.
