While she learned to cook from her grandmother, Chef Rose Forrest says it’s the collection of people she’s met or worked with over the years that inspires her cooking style today. She says she knew early in childhood that she wanted to be a chef (or a pilot or a veterinarian) and says that cooking is her creative outlet. When she set out to make her Mushroom Bao, she cranked up the music in her home kitchen, made a bao dough and started playing with flavors—with truly delicious results.
