Chef Richard Hendrik van der Horst’s passion for cooking began when he made everyday meals for his family.
At the age of, 18, he served in the military, where he served not only as a soldier, but also as a chef. When he became a civilian, he started working a fine dining establishment as a cook and learned more and more about becoming a chef. He then began his culinary studies.
At the age of 21, Chef van der Horst began working at the Royal Marines as a chef and marine. After this experience, he worked at the World Forum In the Hague, a big congress center and hotel where he was a head Chef. This experience led to his employment with Sodexo.
