Steve Passchyn – BELGIUM Global Chef

Chef Steve Passchyn launched his culinary career at the age of 8 preparing meals for his family and by the age of 14 was enrolled in the famous Hotelschool Ter Duinen culinary school. Early in his career, he lived throughout Belgium, working in a variety of hotels and restaurants.

Chef Passchyn joined Sodexo Belgium almost 20 years ago and has managed many new initiatives and teams in Antwerp and Brussels. He served as catering manager for the International Seamen House and was instrumental in opening the Grand Café Permeke, a public restaurant commissioned by the city of Antwerp. He’s expanded his culinary training in a Michelin-starred restaurant and with chefs associated with Alain Ducasse, the renowned French chef and restaurant owner.

Seeing people enjoy food he’s prepared makes Chef Passchyn happy. “I love making food every day and finding out what’s new in the market,” he says. “Great food can be very simple and so delicious.”
