Chef Johannes Menden describes his culinary creations as fresh and natural with flavor influences from the Mediterranean, Germany, and classic French cuisine. Today, he’s the Executive Chef at the newly opened European Central Bank building in Frankfurt, where he oversees food preparation, production and a multicultural kitchen team serving between 700 and 900 guests per day.
By the young age of 16, Chef Menden knew he wanted to travel the world as a chef. His culinary career has taken him from the US to Morocco and throughout Europe, where he’s worked in the restaurants of the five-star hotels St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca, Spain and Palace Hotel Gstaad, Switzerland. Chef Menden was recognized as a Top Five Chef at the renowned hotel management school Hotelfachschule in Heidelberg where he earned a 2012 Master of Culinary Arts degree in Gastronomic Management.
